The 2025 Cadillac XT4 is finally receiving so much needed refresh because believe it or not, this is actually the sixth production year of the generation. For that reason, it’s not a surprise that the update is pretty comprehensive. It includes a significantly updated styling, with a completely new front end. Significant changes can be seen on the inside as well, as there is a completely new dashboard design, highlighted by a huge 33-inch screen.
However, things under the skin haven’t changed much, so we could say that the overall design is still the same. This crossover will continue with the same engine, as well as the same suspension and chassis setup, which means that we may count on the same ride quality, which is still a little bit less refined compared to rivals. The production of the updated model already started and we expect sales to start pretty soon.
2025 Cadillac XT4 Redesign
As mentioned, this subcompact crossover is finally getting a mid-cycle update. The new version will get improved in many ways, starting with a significantly updated styling. The new versions look way more attractive, thanks to a completely new front-end design. There are new headlights, a new grille, bumper and other parts – all sharper and bolder, with a lot of inspiration taken from the mid-size XT6. A few tweaks can be noticed on the rear end as well.
On the other hand, the mechanical aspect won’t get any notable change. We are about to see the same chassis and suspension setup. This crossover is easy to drive and quite maneuverable. The ride is reasonably comfortable and smooth, though not on par with German rivals. Problems are also notable when it comes to handling and overall driving experience, where this model looks a little bit dull. All in all, this XT4 is nice to drive but some rivals are simply better and more refined.
Interior
Big changes are coming on the inside as well, where you can notice a completely new dashboard design. Of course, the biggest upgrade is a new massive 33-inch screen, which integrates an infotainment system and instrument cluster, in a similar fashion to the Escalade. Besides new tech features, this update also brings notable improvements in terms of build quality and better materials selection.
In terms of passenger space, things are pretty much the same. Although a subcompact crossover, this model features more than 109 inches in wheelbase, which is long enough for two spacious rows of seats. For that reason, the SUV accommodates five adults pretty easily and offers a high level of comfort.
The cargo area is good for about 22.5 cubic feet behind the second row and 49 cubic feet in total. That’s OK for the class, but several rivals offer more than that.
Features
Of course, this update also brings all kinds of novelties when it comes to features, standard and optional. We already mentioned the new 33-inch screen, which incorporates a digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen into one unity. Speaking of the infotainment system, there’s a new interface, sourced from Google. Things like wireless smartphone integration are part of the standard equipment, just like a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, seven-speaker audio system etc. You can opt for a 13-speaker AKG stereo system.
As for the safety features, things like forward collision braking, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and lane keep assist will be part of the standard equipment.
2025 Cadillac XT4 Engine
As we already mentioned, this update won’t bring changes under the hood. The 2025 Cadillac XT4 will continue with a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, which puts out 235 horsepower and 258 horsepower. It offers good driving dynamics, though it can be noisy at higher revs. Most rival engines feel more refined in this aspect. The engine comes in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which does a pretty decent job.
Base models come with front-wheel drive, while AWD is optional. When it comes to fuel economy, models with front-wheel drive are good for about 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Models with all-wheel drive are slightly thirstier and return around 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. Those are good ratings for the class.
2025 Cadillac XT4 Release Date and Price
As mentioned, the production of the 2025 Cadillac XT4 has already started. The company will soon start taking orders and we expect the refreshed model to hit the market by the end of summer. When it comes to price, we know that base versions will cost around 39.000 dollars, while the range-topping models are expected to go around 45.000 dollars. Of course, the competition will remain the same, in the form of models like the Volvo XC40, Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1 etc. If you need something bigger, you can always upgrade the small crossover to the Cadillac XT5.
