2023 Chevy Silverado EV Range, Towing Capacity, Price

2023 Chevy Silverado EV release date

The 2023 Chevy Silverado EV is not the first electric truck on the market. It is not even the first to be built by General Motors. But, it is definitely a more important arrival than many other vehicles we saw in the past year. First, Tesla launched Cybertruck. Well, it is not a surprise from a leader in the electric segment. Then, GM announced the comeback of Hummer, but as the electric pickup. After that, the leading truckmaker in the US had to respond, and Ford F-150 Lightning was introduced.

Now, it is time for the electric truck with the bow tie on the front fascia. As always, Chevrolet and Ford will go at each other in every segment. And this one is very specific. The future of the industry is electric, and the truck segment generates a lot of profit. So, we expect two truckmakers to build another rivalry. With all duty respect to Tesla, those are the main players in the truck world.

First Impressions

The first details about the 2023 Chevy Silverado EV are making fans eager to see the truck at dealerships. The upcoming model is raising the performance to another level, with batteries capable to make the pickup go 400 miles before the next recharge. For such a big vehicle, this is more than impressive. Even some small crossovers can’t cover that range. However, the towing capacity is the key, but GM wouldn’t launch the electric Silverado with poor outputs.

The styling is attractive. There is no front grille since the battery doesn’t need conventional cooling provided by air flow. The first impression is that we already saw this truck somewhere. Indeed, it has same flaws that can remind you of Avalanche pickup. In the beginning, the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV is going to use only two trim levels. But, starting with 2024 YM, more packages are going to be available.

2023 Chevy Silverado EV Specs

Of course, the main thing about the 2023 Chevy Silverado EV is its performance. An electric battery provides plenty of power. A dual-motor system, built with an Ultium battery pack, delivers 664 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque. That is enough for a 400 miles range. Also, acceleration is very impressive, and the truck will need just 4.5 seconds to get up to 60 mph. In 10 minutes, fast chargers will restore energy for the next 100 miles.

There will be more improvements on the system in the future. Bosses claimed that the Silverado EV is going to be out with a 500-mile range. Well, such a configuration might be available in 2024. Also, the recharging system might be speeded up. Plus, special versions of the truck could use features we saw on the Hummer EUT.

2023 Chevy Silverado EV Packages

Well, the initial edition of the electric pickup is not going to get Crab Walk and Extract Mode. Those are high-end options. Still, the 2023 Chevy Silverado EV is nicely packed, even if you pick WT or RST editions. Here are some of the notable features those models are going to offer.

A rear-wheel drive is standard. You can also get an AWD, either as an optional upgrade, or as a standard feature from some higher trim levels. General Motors also makes the Super Cruise available for both WT and RST. There is no doubt that future editions are also getting this system. Some experts consider it as one of the best autonomous drives currently available. Multi-Flex Midgate is another trademark accessory. A configurable bed is ready for several functions.

Interior

Crew Cab is something you want to get with the 2023 Chevy Silverado EV. Other options are not announced yet. A huge screen is the center of the infotainment system. In the RST, it will be a 17-inch display. Plus, the digital cluster is an 11-inch screen. That is not all, with the HUD as part of standard equipment. Chevrolet built its multimedia based on the Linux systems. Well, GM is not unveiling everything, but the Silverado EV is about to deliver something special.
