An iconic muscle car is back. Trans Am Worldwide rebuilt the Chevelle with the SS package and the vehicle deploys 1,500 hp. Such moves are always drawing attention, although it is not an official build by Chevrolet. But, it can make the company think about the return of a legendary car. Here are our thoughts on the 2025 Chevy Chevelle.
You can hear almost every day about some comebacks. Besides the Chevelle, there are also Montana and El Camino trucks, some other cars and SUVs. But, the aftermarket work on the 2024 Chevelle SS is magnificent and the company won’t let it go so easy. The momentum can be used for the serial production and the final comeback of the 2025 Chevy Chevelle by General Motors.
Chevelle SS by Trans Am
There will be a few available packages for the upcoming Chevelle. The base version is packed with 450 horsepower, which is an output we used to see on the old car. From there, you can also select a custom-tuned 6.4-liter V8 engine with 900 horsepower. That is not all – the final configuration will deliver 1,500 horsepower and only 25 units will be built. Manual transmission is also available if an automatic doesn’t work. The company also offers eight old-school paints and also some new colors. The price is quite hefty – starting at $150k.
Will There be the 2025 Chevy Chevelle?
We’ll see how the public is going to react to the new Chevelle SS. The resurrection of the 2025 YM depends on that. For now, it draws a lot of attention. But, the price it too high. If the 2025 Chevy Chevelle enters production again, it won’t cost so much. Also, the muscle car won’t offer such high outputs. The best GM is doing is 650 hp for the iconic Camaro and some Cadillac Blackwing models.
Trans Am is not going to make more of their builds. However, the legacy can be continued by the main company. Still, the market for muscle cars is a bit limited nowadays and those cars live on their previous fame. Interesting, Dodge produces two of them – Charger and Challenger. The 2025 Chevy Chevelle would be a mechanical twin of the Camaro.
Engines and Specs
It all starts with a 2.0-liter turbo unit and 275 horsepower. The base Chevelle wouldn’t be so special. An alternative is a 3.6-liter V6 with 335 horsepower. It is much better for a muscle car. Both manual and automatic transmissions are available. On the base one, it would be an 8-speed case, while V6 comes with a 10-pace box.
Like said, the base Trans Am configuration produces 450 hp. That is an output of the previous Chevelle. If General Motors starts building it, a 6.2-liter V8 can do 455 hp and 455 lb-ft. The Camaro SS is using this tuning. But, it can be a starter pack, and the 2025 Chevy Chevelle SS would pack a high-output version of the same V8 mill with 650 hp and 650 pound-feet of twist. That is enough for the car to sprint 0-60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds.
2025 Chevy Chevelle Release Date and Price
The new 2025 Chevy Chevelle by General Motors will be out next year. Such a vehicle is not a priority for the company. General Motors is building a lot of electric vehicles. Chevelle won’t be one of them. If it becomes an EV, the hype won’t be so high. However, such a vehicle can compete with Dodge eMuscle car. The price of the Chevelle will depend on the engine room. The base version with a four- or six-cylinder unit is more affordable. A V8 won’t be under $50,000. A high-end SS is at least $75,000. Still better than the customized car for the 2024 season and the $150,000 price tag.
