The future is finally here and officially we have a closer look at how it is supposed to look alike. The new GM products are revealing many new advantages, and with such great innovations and investments, we can anticipate only the very best. The new Buick Wildcat EV concept is something new and astonishing experiment which will make a true resemblance with the modern redesign and futuristic technology. The main idea is to make things unique with a GM stamp on them with no possible competitors. Not for quite sometime now.
The overall impression is definitely a modern point of view. The Buick Wildcat is going to represent a new concept of the automobile industry that is meant to symbolize the brand’s revolutionary transition toward offering entirely electric vehicles in North America by the end of this decade. The 119-year-old brand’s future design and technical goals are imprinted in this vehicle, which also features a considerably updated logo for the first time in more than 30 years.
Buick Wildcat EV Concept Appearance
The history of the Buick legacy has long been rooted in tradition and manner of conduct. However, that also leaves space for new generations to show up. The Buick Wildcat EV concept will have quite an interesting exterior and overall redesign. The futuristic factor is the leading point of the new concept which should air in a couple of next months. The tri-shield has been removed from the grille and is now an image on the front fascia on the Wildcat. It is the first significant change to the logo since 1990. As it is a sensible decision since the grilles on EVs are going to evolve or disappear entirely. The back sports another logo which should look similar.
Additionally, the horizontal headlights are now elevated, and the LED lights feature a modern way of redesign. The Wildcat has a long, fluid body with curved hind legs, concave sides, and a descending roofline that draws attention to the taillights (the design lacks door handles). It has the charm of a sports car thanks to the big, tinted glass door and the speedy roofline. The coupe is placed on 22-inch wheels with 18 spokes.
Buick Wildcat EV Concept Interior Features
The two long doors open normally, but part of the roof rises above them to provide extra headroom and ease of ingress. Although this is just an idea, it can make a great result. Because of this, the side mirrors also include rearview cameras. The oval instrument panel, which is made up of a single touchscreen for the first two-thirds, is one of the floating components inside. It finishes in front of the passenger, who is met with open cargo space for improved comfort and interior airflow. Additionally floating from the instrument panel to the back seats is the center console.
Four shaped seats in the Wildcat cradle passengers. The futuristic headrests and other areas of the cabin make good use of acrylic trim, and the entire inside is finished in brushed and polished aluminum. The coupe won’t likely reach the market, in our opinion. Buick has been reduced to an SUV-only brand in North America, and this will continue into the electric age.
Electric Engine and Range
There is not much information about the engine of a Buick Wildcat EV concept. The electric vehicle will definitely stay a must for recognizable markets. However, with the new lineup, we think that the new platform will be enough to carry on the new performing concept regarding transmission. The new electric tech will provide multiple additional gadgets and safety measures that should be enough for the main prototype.
The Buick Wildcat EV Concept is thought to be supported by the GM BEV3 platform, the latest vehicle architecture. However, the Ultium batteries and Ultium Drive motors are believed to make up the powertrain. Without deeper results throughout tests, we can not say more precise details.
Launching Date and Price
The conventionally powered gas-engine SUV that will be unveiled later this year and go into production in 2023 as a 2024 model will be the first vehicle to feature Buick’s new styling. This is not a small thing since the revealing of this concept is highly anticipated. However, the fully Buick Wildcat EV concept will take some time for launching. Electra SUV is coming out first. The pricing is also different since the rough estimations have different results.
The base and roughly estimated offer is nearly $55,000. However, even without entering the US market, we believe that Chinese dealers will make a better bundle for sale. The basic form will cost that much, but the coupe and S|UV should not be compared. The sport trim and premier trim levels too. We believe that the upgraded units should have pricing over $65,000. We will post the update of the data after the official confirmation.
